The east walkway is open to pedestrians from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., to cyclists from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. The west walkway is open to cyclists from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and closed to pedestrians. On weekends, the west walkway is open exclusively for cyclists from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed to pedestrians. The east walkway is open to pedestrians and closed to cyclists.

Angel Island State Park

Take the short ferry ride from just outside the hotel to this popular island park in the center of San Francisco Bay. There are views all around and the park boasts picnic areas, hiking and biking trails as well as small beaches for swimming and wading. Several first come, first serve slips are available for boaters and a small cafe is open on weekends and daily during the summer.

A variety of birds and other animals make their home at this 11-acre sanctuary on Richardson Bay. One of the only remaining unaltered bay wetlands, the refuge is an excellent place to observe migrating waterfowl and shore birds. The center also offers educational programs and a self-guided nature trail.
